“I really don’t like if I’m unable effectively support the athlete’s situation. Therefore, for me it’s particularly important to keep myself well-informed, so I’m able to do everything possible to help athletes obtain their full competitive potential. The variety of therapy options and the ever-changing conditions in all sports physiotherapy, e.g., techniques, nutrition, treatment stimuli, etc., continues to make the physiotherapy profession exciting and challenging, and extremely fun to work with top athletes and the entire medical team as a single unit. As a physical therapist, it is my job to help athletes perform at their maximum potential. Additionally, it is also my job to mentor, prepare, and support them mentally and psychologically. As a former competitive athlete, I can place myself in the same position as the athlete. I understand their thoughts, feelings, competitive nature and injury patterns. Once an athlete, always an athlete!”
